Hult Reviews in the Words of Ms. Deborah Clark

Deborah Clark, American
 2013, London
Pre Hult: Executive Benefits Disability Specialist, Aon (Professional Services)

Hult features an energetic culture steeped in diversity and global awareness—the bond between classmates is very strong and supportive.

How I Chosen Hult

I was intrigued by the prospect of a one-year intensive MBA at Hult versus the usual two and half years. I wanted to know more about the school, so I did my research and then went to one of the alumni named as Hult Reviews gatherings in Atlanta. I was so impressed by quality of people that Hult was attracting. I was also impressed by the positive entrepreneurial attitude of the alumni I met. They were all very informed about campus life.

Lifestyle at Hult

Hult features an energetic culture steeped in diversity and global awareness—the bond between classmates is very strong and supportive. While we are all competitive by nature, we do not battle again one another, but rather challenge each other to make the most of every moment of this experience. The insights that come from having classmates from different industry backgrounds with differing experiences and a variety of international backgrounds provides a broader perspective of the world.

The students' need for knowledge and the professors' desire to facilitate this need creates a symbiotic relationship, which generates higher levels of expectation on both sides. Having open-door access to Hult's deans and staff is one of the most valuable assets on campus. Their expectations drive our ambition, and yet they are passionately supportive in every aspect of our educational experience.

The London Dean, Nawtej Dosanjh is one of the most effective educators at the school. Nawtej or 'Nuff', as we know him, is without a doubt the 'light' that steers us in the right direction. He offers us the strength to meet the demands of the future without fear. When we became frustrated he encouraged us to take a deep collective breath—to broaden our perspectives and become more enlightened. Every lecturer I have encountered at Hult has offered at least one really good piece of advice. But you can always count on Nawtej to listen, ponder, and respond reflectively. Every class with Professor Abdey and Kastner contained an impressive range of memorable quotes. It was the first time I had ever laughed in a math class or cried in an operations class. The lessons from each class often intertwined with those from others. This is how the programs function as a whole, and that makes the MBA modules both challenging and exciting.

If I had to describe Hult in one word, it would have to be FUN! Every day I cross the Thames in the morning and the evening and I never fail to be thrilled by the view. I pinch myself, grin, and scream: ‘I am in LONDON!' I am constantly amazed by the beauty and history of this city and will miss it desperately when I return to the States. But knowing that my friends will be scattered across the globe gives me comfort, as I know that the sun is always shining on Hult alum somewhere across the globe. And, I know I have a place to stay should I end up there one day!

Friendships with classmates were established from our very first team building session: an outing in the rain! That experience created really solid foundations for our future. The team meetings and dinners have helped to develop our friendships in ways we could have never have expected. We learned to listen actively and think before responding. Friendships have been forged that would not have occurred otherwise, and they may in fact be the strongest bonds we can develop. Sixteen of us went to Beirut together for Spring Break and had the best time ever! On campus I am a member of Hult's Global Society of Women in Business and Hult's Social Responsibility Club. I also participate in activities with the Culture Club and the Dinner Club. Outside of school I am a member of the Transport For London's International Toastmasters Club, Tube Talk.

Such a Great Pleasure being Hult Alumni

The clinching factor for me was the Global Campus Rotation program. I've always wanted to take the global mindset of business a step further to understand other cultures first-hand. I also wanted to experience what a change in location could do to broaden my perspectives—I have not been disappointed. In wanting to obtain an MBA, I feel studying at Hult was the best decision I could have made. I will be rotating to Dubai in Module D and then returning to London for Module E. I have chosen Dubai because I want to experience the Middle East in a secure context. As a student there, I will be able to examine the business concepts of global companies which have invested there. For this module, Hult is also offering a great selection of electives and the incredible opportunity to work on developing business solutions for a leading company.

I want to use my MBA to propel my career in a way which will serve humanity and encourage others to strive for more. More can be so many things, but the most important word here is 'strive'. Hult has deepened my knowledge; given me the opportunity to explore life at a deeper level and to encourage others to raise their expectations. Hult is a springboard for opportunity—we just have to be willing to take the plunge.

Analyse Hult Reviews of Catherine Schutz

Marie-Catherine Schutz, French
One-Year MBA, 2014, Dubai
Pre Hult: Projects Manager, Egis Projects (High-Tech/Telecoms)
An MBA from Hult will significantly enhance my soft skills, which are key values for the quick advancement of my career.

WHY I CHOOSE HULT !

Hult looks toward the future, Hult is global. The school has not only grown steadily for the last ten years, it has also been consistent in its efforts to innovate and improve every aspect of the MBA program, and that is something I like. I think this is essential to keeping up with the fast pace of the world we are living in.

As I have been an expat for the last couple of years, doing an MBA had to be a global experience and Hult was the perfect choice for it. The idea of going back to school can also be awkward after working for many years in a professional environment; however, the structure of the MBA program is smartly designed to adapt to this and allows learning and practice in twelve intense months. This is a challenge in itself and a significant advantage for someone like me who didn’t want to be away from the business world for too long of a period.

MY LIFE AT HULT

When I walk onto the campus each morning, I join more than 25 different nationalities. This is thrilling and the energy which results from this melting pot is very motivating. A trivial conversation at lunch can end up being a discovery of a new country. Every student is willing to share their own experience, both professional and personal. However great the pressure or however difficult some moments can be, there is a real team spirit among the students. I also find it fantastic how so many cultural barriers are overcome and that respect is a value that each of us takes very seriously.

I have an engineering background, therefore there are certain topics that I really wanted to learn about during my MBA at Hult, such as accounting. As much as I wanted to study it, I also had the fear of very long hours of confusing and boring classes. I was actually very surprised as I enjoyed the class and I think the professor Aleksander Grzeszczak did an excellent job. The course was structured and focused on the essentials needed at a senior management level. It was accessible for a beginner like me, and also challenging for some of the more experienced students, as it was looking at accounting on an international level. The professor made the course very entertaining with real case examples while also sharing his own experience.

Every class was interesting and taught me something new. What I found interesting was how the different subjects were linked. Very early in the year, I realized that concepts you learned in one subject were easily applicable to another. It makes the program very consistent and shows that behind every subject the goal is clearly to sharpen our skills and knowledge about how to successfully manage a business.
I chose to live in Dubai and plan to stay in the region for a while, therefore learning the basics of the Arabic language were essential for me. Hult offers weekly classes through a language institute and also offers to set up classes for any other languages that students would be interested in learning.

Working abroad is so enriching and such an exciting experience, I am very fond of it. Being European, I chose Dubai because of my professional goals and my plan to add Middle Eastern experience to my portfolio. For similar reasons, San Francisco is my first choice to rotate, as I wish to experience the working environment in the U.S. Rotating there is the best way to achieve this experience and will also certainly provide me with new contacts.

MY CAREER

After my MBA, I plan to work in the U.A.E or Qatar, and having completed the program in Dubai will obviously be an advantage. I have worked as a project manager for very different industries such as IT, telecommunications, and facilities management. I would be happy to go back to working in any of these fields, but I will certainly bring a different view with me to my job. Essential skills learned during my MBA, such as understanding company results and being able to forecast sales, will allow me to perceive the strategy of the company and ensure even better performance.
An MBA from Hult will also significantly enhance my soft skills, such as leadership and team work, which are key values for the quick advancement of my career.

Hult Reviews - directly meet and converse with Hult Alumni

Alumni Perspective
Rebecca, Smith
One-Year MBA, 2012, Boston
Associate Expenditure Officer, Overseas Finance Company
(Financial Professional services)
My continual interaction with the Career Solutions team was extremely helpful to me.

WHY HULT

The primary attraction of Hult along with its MBA in my opinion was the intensive, 12-calendar month program and also the diversity in the school's college student body.

I had been first looking for the best international MBA program that would help me build new skills and deepen my knowledge of Financing in the least amount of time possible. Furthermore, the reality that I would be studying together with students from across entire world was invaluable for me. I used to be already operating in a very multicultural environment at Accenture, and might not envision being over a program that did not represent the way the world of business is right now! I also recognized that this kind of diversity would become useful in the future after i utilized my MBA alumni network.

Living AT HULT

The Boston campus was wide open and pleasant, and buzzing with power. Also, we, the Hult Student Association in Boston, organized drinks and pizza night time at Lingo before the conclusion of each element so that individuals could just enjoy and relax time with one other. The Hult classroom was extremely different with people with professional qualification as different as treatment and the armed forces. For this reason, most of our class discussions featured special perspectives on financial and business concerns. It was genuinely an enriching experience to witness swaps of sights with such a multicultural student body. I learned a lot from my fellow classmates on subject areas I had no prior familiarity with.

In terms of lessons, I enjoyed the Corporate Sociable Responsibility course. The topic was right on position with our daily business technique in going into "bottom part of the pyramid" marketplaces. The real situations we analyzed allowed for interesting school discussions and offered relevant conclusions and advices for our own future profession as administrators. The inspiring Professor of Global Tactical Valuation, Joel Litman also taught us that the same framework could be applied by people to produce wealth by them and for modern society. In order to achieve good results, I first needed to establish it explicitly and then be able to allocate assets to my goal through a prioritization of my effort and time, he made me recognize that. I am still using this pyramid framework defined in the reserve while planning the rest of my career.

Although at Hult, I was part of the Hult Pupil Association (HSA) where I represented the student body at meetings with all the faculty group. It was an appealing and demanding role, when I had to tackle my MBA class's issues while also getting the faculty's voice within the classroom. It had been also a wonderful way to utilize my management skills as HSA frequently organized situations for students, such as the graduation celebration and our yearbook.

Winning the Hult Global Situation Challenge (now Hult Prize) in the Boston Campus helps me in order to meet previous season MBA college students who started to be my coach during the competition and supplied great assistance with job skills and check to develop for your actual company market. Realizing these few students, who had attained major fulfillment past their MBA, provided me with confidence that I was in the right place.

A GLOBAL HULT EXPERIENCE

The Worldwide Campus Rotation program was really a real bonus of Hult's MBA software. Turning to Shanghai made ideal sense, when i was enthusiastic about the development of the BRIC countries. I could connect with Chinese organizations or multinationals established in Shanghai-the first step in the direction of achieving my future goal of working to promote southern-to the south investments.

During my time at Hult Shanghai I found myself fortunate enough to be tasked with choosing a solution to get a Korean company looking to go into the Chinese market for my Measures Project. Acting as a consultant was a new experience for me: I got to get into practice the course content explained in previous modules and utilize the new marketing and advertising skills I needed developed during the entire MBA 12 months.
My most significant achievement was coming to be aware of the client as well as to present a cutting-edge solution that had been warmly obtained. I also loved the chance to check out China as well as learn Mandarin, so rotation really topped off my MBA encounter as well as adding to my personal expansion.

MY Profession

My frequent interaction with the Career Professional services team was extremely good for me. After they knew I needed an interest in a particular company, installed me in contact with the right alumnus. In order to create my group so that it integrated the kind of experts I thought about being connected with, it absolutely was not always easy-I needed to implement the tools I had been equipped with at Hult, even so.
Immediately after graduating day, on August 16 2012, I received my job supply with the International Finance Firm (IFC). It was my initially choice of employer as I had aimed to get results for development and especially for the Entire World Bank Class.

The MBA gave me the credentials and opportunity to enter this totally new professional industry-one who I had been enthusiastic about for several years. I think the system I have developed during my program, and also the training I got from my courses is going to be of advantage of me inside my current situation.

Hult International Business School Reviews

Alumni Perspective
Maria Sofia Yi, Peruvian
One-Year MBA, 2010, London
Product Manager, Interbank (Financial Services)

My degrees from Hult made me more competitive in the job market, which helped me to get a good job at one of the most important Peruvian holdings.

WHY HULT

I was attracted to the one-year program, the diversity of Hult’s student body, and the opportunity to rotate to Hult’s campuses across the globe.

MY LIFE AT HULT

The atmosphere on campus was simply great. We were all in the same situation—we were alone and about to start a new life for a year. We developed deep friendships, some of which have lasted right up until today. We studied, traveled, partied, and shared a memorable year together.

A GLOBAL HULT EXPERIENCE

My home campus was London, and I rotated to Shanghai. I had always wanted to study in London for three main reasons: I had never been to Europe before the MBA and London was a huge-multicultural and 24-hour city that had also achieved worldwide academic recognition. I decided to go to Shanghai because my family is from China and I wanted to have a different life experience in a place where the culture is completely different from my own. I am still happy with the choices I made in that time because I just loved both cities and I had the opportunity to learn and develop tolerance, patience, and a more open attitude towards different customs. Nowadays, I feel completely sure that I can adapt myself to different groups, places, and situations.
I feel tremendously lucky to have friends and Hultians to contact in many cities around the world. I am absolutely sure that the diversity in the class is the most important benefit of Hult MBA.

MY CAREER

My MBA and Master of Finance from Hult made me more competitive in the job market, which helped me to get a good job at one of the most important Peruvian holdings. Now I have a job with greater responsibility and more exposure to higher levels of management. Financially, I was able to triple my previous salary.

Why To Choose Hult For MBA - Maria Babone Villax

Student Perspective
Portuguese
One-Year MBA, 2014, London
Pre Hult: Lawyer, Abreu & Marques e Associados (Professional Services)

Each and every one of our fellow classmates is ready to help, to explain, to encourage, and to ensure that no one gets left behind.

WHY HULT

What I liked about Hult’s approach was the efficiency, the promptness, and the personal contact that was present throughout the recruitment process. When I started to look for schools offering MBA programs, I visited Hult’s site and requested a brochure. From that moment on, recruiters contacted me on a weekly basis and even met with me in Lisbon, my hometown. I was also drawn to Hult’s MBA program because of its innovative and modern approach to teaching, based on closeness between faculty members and students: this was mentioned in the literature I read prior to attending the school, and I can now confirm it to be true!

MY LIFE AT HULT

Hult’s atmosphere is one of its best points; the wide cultural diversity brings extremely interesting people together and the bonds one forms are deep and strong. Also, the fact that each person has a very different professional background contributes to a rich environment in the classroom, where each contributes and helps the other, with their specific set of skills. To illustrate this last point, we had a student with a background in engineering who held a three-hour class for the whole MBA cohort in order to answer our questions and doubts prior to a quantitative analysis exam.

The most inspirational faculty member for me would be Professor Terence Tse, who teaches Financial Management. His classes go at an overwhelming rhythm, yet they are fun, interesting, and challenging. So far, International Marketing has been my most rewarding course, as I find the behavior and psyche of the consumer a fascinating subject to understand and study. Being more of a people person than a number cruncher, being able to relate market trends to the psychology behind people’s wants, wishes, and needs (even if only to some degree), constitutes one of the most important tools I’m set to acquire
for pursuing my future goals. When pressure runs high at the end of the module, each and every one of our fellow classmates is ready to help, to explain, to encourage, and to ensure that no one gets left behind. The eight-hour marathon team meetings are interrupted by jokes, laughter, breathers, and the occasional mince pie offered by the staff. That is what makes us keep going and be able to successfully face all the challenges in front of us.
The people at Hult are what make this experience such a valuable one.

A GLOBAL HULT EXPERIENCE

I am planning to rotate to New York as I’m interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry. As such, I feel that the city is the perfect complement to my experience in London, and that by studying in New York, I will surely gain useful professional contacts and an international network that will help me to pursue my goals.

MY CAREER

As I am set on pursuing a career in the fashion industry, Hult has already provided me with insightful advice on how I should proceed and approach the major career shift ahead of me (as I was previously a lawyer for five years). Furthermore, Hult has already given me serious options when it comes to contacts and internships from which I can start developing the required skills and understanding of what will be needed to complete a successful change and smooth transition.
